Re: New album "VOICE"
Thu, September 16, 2004 - 9:05 AMIT IS AMAZING~! (Be sure to get the import with liner notes by Alison giving her thoughts on each track.)
Again, she has stretched herself and tackled some material that showcases her gorgeous, lush voice. I was feeling SO romantic and mushy on the way home from work yesterday that I almost kissed the flower lady~! (Ah, leave it to Alison to revive the romantic in me.)
So, now... where the hell's the Erasure release! They sure are makin us wait. Wasn't it supposed to be released a couple months ago? (post-production can be a bitch sometimes!)

Wed, February 23, 2005 - 2:39 PMI wasn't sure I liked HOMETIME at first listen, but now it's on heavy rotation in my MP3 player, as it's one of the most amazing recordings I own. Can't wait for VOICE! -

Re: New album "VOICE"
Wed, February 23, 2005 - 3:53 PMI actually like Hometime way better than VOICE. Voice is awesome, but more of an artist indulgence - good for her, though.
But Hometime is really good. I've been listening to Essex and Hoodoo as well, both really good in my opinion. I just love how much time she spends on complex vocal arrangements, harmony, etc.

Re: New album "VOICE"
Wed, February 23, 2005 - 4:17 PMhometime took a bit to grown on to me as well, but now I listen to it alot and am trying to get a routine put together for the first track. LOVE it.
Hoodoo is my all time fav. one of the top 4 albums of my all time list. Voice is so very different, however as I didn't listen to alot of the songs in the orginal reordings I get to fall in love with them all on their own. I played the first track for my girlfriends and they had to get over their first impressions of "man, my mom made me listen to this crap" Once they did, they got addicted :)
